Emerald Bay Kayak 2007
Photos of our Eastern Sierra Kayak and Canoe Club paddle of
Lake Tahoe, on 15 Sept 2007. We parked at Baldwin Beach, west of Camp
Richardson (parking was $5 per vehicle). Launched at Baldwin, and followed
the lake shore to Emerald Bay. A very pleasant paddle, about 1.6 miles
into Emerald. Stopped for lunch at the boat only campground, which was
clean, nice, and we HIGHLY recommend. After circumnavigating Emerald Bay,
we left to paddle back to S. Lake Tahoe mid-afternoon. It was a Sunday.
The entrance to Emerald Bay had VERY confused seas, due to the high number of
large powerboats coming in and out of the bay from differing directions.
That said, Joy loved it, and was surfing larger wakes on the 14' Hurricane
kayak!
