With so many beautiful lakes in the Eastern Sierra, it is hard to pick one's favorite, so we have several!  Lake Sabrina is one of those, set in a glacier bowl, surrounded by high mountains.  Despite the altitude of Sabrina, it is a very easy drive from Bishop on an excellent, wide road.  The views on the way up (and down) are outstanding.  There is a small campground a short distance from the dam (it is the campground closest to the lake) with streamside campsites - no actually lake front camping, but pretty and scenic enough that you don't care!  North Lake and South Lake are nearby.  There is a small store with cafe at the launch site.  Well worth a visit.

Easy drive up to the lake.

Hwy 168 leads from Bishop, 19 miles up to Lake Sabrina. A rarity for mountain lakes, the road is fast, and fairly straight up to the last mile or so.

Resort with cabins located a few miles below the lake.

The view into the Sabrina area is magnificent as you drive uphill on Hwy 168.

There is a paved launch ramp at the Dam. This is also the put-in for paddlers.

There is a small marina, with cafe and basic fishing supplies.

Lake is dotted with islets and outcroppings that make for a fun paddle!

Log boom for wake and wave protection at the small marina. Note there is one rental boat on the boom which may be rented for 1/2 price!

View of the cafe and portion of launch ramp.

Dam, note wood siding.

Another view showing wooden planking to protect the Dam.

Wonderful vistas on HWY 168 leading up to Sabrina, North, and South Lakes.
