Long Beach, California

Alamitos Bay

Naples, a portion of Alamitos Bay, which is on the east side of Long Beach

Bridges connect to the residential island

Lots of put-in locations in Alamitos Bay, especially on the wester side of the bay, near the shops in Belmont Shores.

Put-in near downtown Long Beach, just to the east of Shoreline Marina. Wide beach area, but can be about a 100 to 200 yard walk from parking to beach, depending where you fine a parking spot.

Looking towards downtown Long Beach

Long Beach harbor, with Queen Mary

Queen Mary, about a 15 minute paddle from the beach put-in site.

One of several Oil Islands. Built to hide oil derricks. At night they are illuminated and contain several waterfalls. Makes viewing them from the shore pleasant, rather than an eyesore.

Another view of downtown, the convention center is just off screen to the left
