The "Fleet"

Above - Perfect for lake and coastal use.  Fits in a bag, so you can put it in the trunk, or have it fly with you to Maui.  This is a 2005 model AdvancedFrame kayak by Advanced Elements.  See our "Store" page on this website to purchase any Advanced Element inflatable kayaks or canoes!

Above - Where the inflatable AdvancedFrame kayaks excel!  All of this, fits into a VW Jetta trunk in photo below!  Both photos taken at Gull Lake Campground, site #9, May 2006.

Old Town "Discovery 169". Royalex, over 10 years old, and still going stong. Carries quite a load of gear!

The two Aquaterra Sea Lions. Now retired, rotomold simply does not last forever, but great boats.

The Tahiti has turned out to be a better than expected kayak - MUCH better given the very low price.  Purchase price is from $99 to $130 or so from various outlets.  If you add the $12-$17 skeg, padding and directional stability is GREATLY improved, especially when you add wind into your paddling experience!  We purchased the boat to fit into a suitcase so that we can have a boat with us when traveling by air.  It has worked so well that we have recently upgraded to the Advanced Elements inflatable kayaks, providing a big improvement in tracking, speed, and kayaking comfort.

And finally, paddling off the coast of Maui...

Above - At Silver Lake off Hwy 88 a Aquaterra Prism.  Now retired.  One of the first "mass" production sit-on-top kayaks.  Rotomold construction.  Newer sit-on-tops have come a LONG way from this now dated design.

Above  - Smallest of the fleet, an old Aquaterra Keowee, about 11 years old as shown in this photo.  Handy for quick trips to the lakes since it fits perfectly into the back of a pickup.  Not fast, but stable as a rock, and great to use as a base for taking photos.  Using this boat allows us to paddle several small lakes in a morning or afternoon.  Greatest drawback?.....S..L..O..W..!  This photo was taken at June Lake campground, tent site number T3 (a GREAT location, put in just ahead of the truck.

Above - Aquaterra Keowee on beach at Diaz Lake, with Mt Whitney and Lone Pine Mtn in far background.  Near background are the Alabama Hills, site of hundreds of films and commercials.

Our Hurricanes are fantastic kayaks!  Hard shells, outstanding finish unlike similar priced rotomolds.  Check out our Lake Tahoe pages for photos of several models!  But...... here is a SOT and a sit-inside from the Tahoe pages.  These boats are in stock at our Lone Pine store.

Launching a Phoenix 140, 14' sit on top, at Baldwin Beach, Lake Tahoe. On our way to Emerald Bay!

Detail of the Phoenix 140 sit on top. This is a GREAT boat with lots of room. Great handling in lousy conditions.

Hurricane Kayak's Phoenix 140 Sit on top (SOT). Joy's favorite. Handled rough weather at entrance to Emerald wonderfully!

Santee 116 Sport, a sit inside with larger cockpit for easy entrance.
